Organizational Economics

This course is targeted to advanced master students of the program Master on Economics and Politics (MEP). The course mainly deals with organizational architecture, especially the assignment of decision rights within organizations, methods of rewarding individuals and the structure of systems to evaluate the performance of both individuals and business units. The main objective is to familiarise participants with the fundamentals of organizational and managerial economics.
Organizational Economics is a part of the Integrated Master Program .

The course follows a single textbook:

James Brickley, Clifford W. Smith and Jerold Zimmermann: Managerial Economics & Organizational Architecture (3rd Edition), McGraw-Hill

The PowerPoint presentations used by Prof. Schauenberg and other helpful material can be downloaded from the student center on the website of the textbook.

In addition, some relevant case studies will be discussed during the course. Participants can familiarise themselfes with such case studies by reading
